The iconic Blundstone boot company is celebrating its 140th anniversary with a limited edition boot featuring Tasmanian branding.
Only 1200 of the boots will be released world-wide, and will feature a map of Tasmania embossed on the heel of the boot, along with the words “Tasmanian since 1870”, green stitching and the words “limited edition”. Tasmanians will be the first to get access to these boots, with the boots released in January 2011 at selected events. Half of the boots will be sold overseas.
Group Marketing & Sales Executive for Blundstone, Anthea Pritchard said “We have developed the Limited Edition 501, based on our iconic 500 boot to celebrate the brand’s success, surviving for more than 140 years and still remaining 100% Tasmanian owned and managed.”
Blundstone produces 200,000 pairs of gumboots every year in their factory at Moonah, Tasmania and more than a million pairs of leather boots with overseas suppliers. Sold in over 25 countries worldwide, Blundstones are worn by men, women and children for both work and leisure.
