For the home cook, Savour Tasmania is presenting a series of master classes held at the training kitchen of the former Drysdale Hospitality College in Hobart. The classes will be presented by leading chefs: 'Fast' Ed Halmagyi of Better Homes and Gardens fame, food editor of BBC Australian Good Food magazine, vibrant food personality best known for her appearances on Fresh - Lyndey Milan and The Agrarian Kitchen's Rodney Dunn

Tickets to the Savour Tasmania Master classes are $25 per person and run for one hour per session.

  Dinner Party Heroes with "Fast" Ed Halmagyi

  'Fast' Ed Halmagyi is one of Australia's best-loved TV chefs and food authors. For the last five years he has shared his unique take on achievable, time-conscious cookery with millions of viewers and readers through his television, newspaper, radio and publishing endeavours.

  Ed's television commitments are significant. As the cooking presenter on Network 7's award-winning Better Homes and Gardens he transforms elegant restaurant cuisine into recipes that anyone can prepare at home. Ed co-hosted the popular travel show 'Discover Tasmania' in 2007 and his new series will commence in Tasmania on 23 April on Southern Cross TV at 7.30pm. Ed also appears regularly on Sunrise and The Morning Show, 7's popular daybreak programs.

  In publishing Ed is no less energetic. His weekly syndicated column through Cumberland newspapers has developed a loyal readership all over Australia. Ed writes about the culture, history and theory of our food then applies it to a particular ingredient each week. He has published one cookbook 'Nove Cucina' and is currently working on another project. Ed has also published his own magazine under the Better Homes and Gardens banner. 'MORE: the best of Food in a Flash' is the distillation of Ed's most popular recipes coupled with variations on each theme.

  Radio listeners in Sydney are familiar with Ed as a regular guest on ABC local radio 702, and more recently Ed is the co-host on Better Homes & Gardens radio, a three hour talk back show each Sunday through Australian Radio Network.

  Ed's cooking heritage included Sydney's iconic Rockpool, the Wickaninnish Inn in Canada, Cruise and Fuel. It is through comprehending Ed's passion for bakery that you come to understand his philosophy of food. Cookery is a transformative process that celebrates the simple, yet perfect, flavours of great ingredients. As Ed often says, 'great food is a gift of love, so eat up!'

  Ed undertakes significant charity work with Anglicare and Community Greening. He is a keen fisherman and long distance runner who is the proud father of two beautiful kids. He lives near the beach on Sydney's Collaroy Plateau.

  Fast & Fabulous with Lyndey Milan

  Lyndey Milan is an energetic multi-award-winning communicator, author, teacher, consultant and presenter on all things gastronomic. Her no-nonsense approach has built her a solid career on television, radio and the mainstream and wine and food print media.

  Associate Food Director of BBC Australian Good Food magazine (a new publishing partnership between ACP Magazines and BBC Magazines, based on the UK's best-selling food title) she also appears regularly on Mornings with Kerri-Anne every Friday on the Nine Network.

  Until recently she was Food Director of The Australian Women's Weekly for nearly nine years, and for eight years was co-host of Fresh with The Australian Women's Weekly, daily on the Nine Network.

  She has five best-selling cookbooks and countless public appearances as an MC and public speaker. She is in demand for personal appearances at food festivals and master classes around Australia, at The Sydney Seafood School, The Royal Easter Show, and as a debater and food judge. She is the longest serving restaurant reviewer in Sydney having written for The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide since 1987.

  Her unflagging energy sees her on the Council of the Royal Agricultural Society, Past President of both The Food Media Club Australia and the NSW Wine Press Club (now Wine Communicators Australia). She was a member of the Tourism NSW Food and Wine Advisory Committee for over a decade.

  Lyndey Milan's forte is presenting seemingly complicated ideas in an easy, straight-forward and entertaining manner. She has passion, laughter and infectious enthusiasm, a communicator with a practical as well as an academic interest in food, wine and lifestyle.

  Praise for the Braise with Rodney Dunn

  A rural New South Welshman, Rodney Dunn grew up in country New South Wales when a chef apprenticeship led him to be fortunate enough to work under the guidance of Tetsuya Wakuda at Tetsuya's in Sydney. After completing his apprenticeship, Rodney moved into food media where he developed recipes for Australia's leading food magazines and worked as a food researcher for Better Homes and Gardens television programme. He has also authored a cookbook called Roasting and for the past three years has been food editor for Australian Gourmet Traveller magazine where he is now contributing food editor.

  Rodney lives and works in Tasmania where he is a specialist Tasmanian food guide. He has set up his own business called The Agrarian Kitchen set in an 1887 schoolhouse which offers full interactive tours and classes including visiting local food, beer and wine producers. Rodney is a great advocate of Tasmania and its wealth of quality produce and will be a valued and experienced presenter at the Savour Tasmania's master class series.
